AFNIC (the French registry for .fr and .re) is evidently becoming more reasonable and is finally allowing the registration of .fr domains for individuals living outside of France. It is therefore possible for French citizens to operate a “.fr homepage” without restrictions (provided they are over 18 years old). For companies, a local presence (Extrait KBIS / SIRET / SIREN) or a registered trademark is still required.
