Strictly speaking, Matomo (formerly Piwik) never actually had a logo. The logo simply consisted of the lettering, without any bells and whistles.

Matomo is a very comprehensive and high-performance open-source analytics software. A major advantage over common solutions like Google Analytics is that visitor data is not sent to third parties. You either host Matomo yourself or with a provider you trust. In this context, the data remains where it belongs.
